Miniature bike - part I

We challenged ourselves to build a miniature bike from scratch. We had the idea for it already for a long time, but now we finally found time to make it happen. There will be 3 parts with a step by step making process explaind.

We cuted two rings and a core out of the plywood board and glued them together. The core allowed it for further processing on the lathe. The rubber profile was laser engraved in twelve segments. The core was then removed and a wooden ring with drilled holes was inserted to represent the rim of the wheel. The wheel axle is made from aluminum in which we drilled holes. We made a template that helped us while gluing spokes to the bike. They are made out of 0.5 mm thick wire, and the system is exactly the same as one used for a real bike.
